Qvik is the latest innovation in the Hungarian payment system, allowing you to pay safely, conveniently, and free of charge from your forint account, whether in a store, restaurant, or webshop. In webshops and online platforms, no data entry is required. Thus, there is no need for card data registration or providing your forint account details. After the payment, your banking application automatically redirects you back to the merchant's site where the payment result is displayed.
Launched on September 1, 2024, qvik uses the already familiar Instant Payment System, so the payment you initiate is completed within 10 seconds, and the money can be in the merchant's bank account within this time. All you need to do is take a photo, click, and approve! Moreover, this transfer doesn't cost you anything!
The so-called Deeplinks used during qvik payments, which are individually generated as QR codes, NFC signals, or payment reference links, are equipped with an authentication code and are always specific to the given payment. When you scan the QR code, use NFC payment, or click on the payment link, you can only access the mobile banking application installed on your phone, where you can verify before payment that you are indeed paying the correct recipient and amount. Before offering you the transfer option, your bank checks that the issuer was indeed the Aggregator, ensuring that the QR code contains authentic information and that the qvik payment is secure. The entire payment process takes place within a closed system, so with the qvik service, you cannot initiate a QR code payment where your money would end up in unauthorized hands.
If you would like to pay with qvik, use your mobile phone's camera to scan the QR code displayed on the POS terminal, cash register system, or monitor, or click on it if the QR code or payment link appears on your phone.
By scanning the QR code, your phone will automatically open your bank's mobile banking application. If you have multiple mobile banking apps on your phone, either the default app (iOS) or the app you select from a list (Android) will open.
In your mobile banking app, the payment will open once your bank has verified that the authentication signature in the QR code is correct. If it is not, the transfer cannot be initiated. If the verification is successful, you will see the recipient's name, bank account number, the amount to be debited from your account, and the reference in the opened mobile banking app. If everything is in order, you will start the approval process and approve the transaction as usual for a transfer.
If your bank finds the transaction data appropriate, it will initiate the transfer, and you will receive feedback not only in your mobile banking app but also on the device where you scanned the QR code, indicating that the payment was successful. If you pay and initiate a transfer this way, it will always be free of charge for you!
